This extended essay will explore the cultural protests that marked Britain throughout the 1980s as a direct result of Margaret Thatcher s reign as British Prime minister. I aim to gain an understanding of the way that different forms of culture respond to circumstances. I will turn my attention towards British popular musicians, film makers and designers whom were all united by a single common thread: Their detest of the Iron Lady , Margaret Thatcher. The overall aim of this extended essay is to determine how these cultural protests of the 1980s contested and critiqued the value of the Thatcher era. [Abstract]
