500 ## - GENERAL NOTE
General note Advertisement techniques towards children are explored under the categories of colour and production techniques using two adverts from LEGO, tailored towards specific genders, as the case study. Through research, it was concluded that the colours pink and blue were used predominantly in the advertisements towards girls and boys respectively. Editing techniques such as quick cuts, dynamic camera shots and action scenes were more popular in males adverts while social scenes coupled with slow fades and dissolves were used in favour of cuts in female advertisements. These results show how powerful LEGO s advertising can be, and the effect it has on children s perception of what society expects of their gender.
