Since the late 1970s, Bachert, who is a distinguished Kthe Kollwitz expert, has worked as the co-director of the gallery.The film is based on interviews by Prof. Darcy Buerkle (Smith College), filmmaker Holly Fisher and Hiltrud Schulz (DEFA Film Library), which took place in fall 2015.
