A record of the colourful week-long celebration throughout the New Hebrides in the lead up to independence. On 30 July 1980, the New Hebrides gained independence from Britain and France after 70 years. On that day the island groups took a new name, Vanuatu. This film takes a look at the nation’s history and the lead up to independence.
