Enhanced descriptions from Syndetics:

Diesel engines are finally getting respect they deserve. Diesel trucks have always been popular for towing, but their orbit-altering low-end torque makes them great for off-roading, drag racing, and other types of horsing around. And with all the performance parts available for these trucks, it's not uncommon to see reliable, daily driven rigs making huge power. Diesel cars are also renowned for their efficiency and reliability-but they're responsive to performance upgrades too! Diesel engines work very differently than the gas engines most horsepower junkies are used to, so different performance principles apply. In High-Performance Diesel Builder's Guide, author Joe Pettitt shows you how diesel engines work and how to set them up to make big horsepower and torque, reliably. Pettitt uses over 325 color images and technical yet readable language to describe how to upgrade your intake, exhaust, turbo, and fuel systems to build more boost and make more power. There's even a chapter on nitrous oxide and propane injection. As for the rest of the vehicle, upgrades for your transmission and rear end are covered, too. With vehicle-specific chapters on GM, Ford, Dodge, and even Volkswagen vehicles, you can rest assured this book has the information you need.
