Within this extended essay, I will examine third wave feminism and its aims; I will explore the idea of femininity and show how the relationship between fashion and feminism are changing. Through three case studies from the fashion industry today; Rei Kawabuko, Miuccia Prada and Ann Sofie Back, I intend to show how designers are adapting new feminist appproaches to femininity. These three fashion designers address and contest contemporary notions of what beauty and feminity are today.
