Contents:
Alice's adventures in Wonderland create a mirror of adolescence and the figure of the girl. This essay deals with what the story says about the figure of the girl and the level of control she has in her world as she develops her own sense of self in relation to what world. I consider this in relation to the work of Anna Gaskell and Francesca Woodman, both of whom create narratives that are evocative of Alice's story.
