The sexualisation of young girls is a growing problem in contemporary society. Depictions of women and girls in the music and film industry and general pop culture reinforce negative stereotypes. The rise of online culture and social media among teenagers solidify these media stereotypes. Young girls are being sent conflicting messages about sex, sexuality and their own value in society.
