Artist and writer Matthew Collings takes the viewer on a tour of ten of his favourite beauty experiences from the entire history of art, and asks whether beauty really is only in the eye of the beholder, or if it is a more universal concept. Works considered include the prehistoric cave art of the Dordogne, a Norman Foster-designed bridge in southern France, Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling, Roman mosaics in a museum in Tunisia, and a canvas made of rubbish by Robert Rauschenberg.
Originally produced England : Seneca Productions for BBC, 2009.
