Locis Collaborative Arts programme / Leitrim County Council.

Locis was a collaborative programme cofunded by the Culture programme of the European Union, betwen Leitrim County Council Arts Office, Ireland; the Centre of Contemporary Art Jnaki Cjasu in Turin, Poland; and Botkyrka Konsthall/Residents Botkyrka, Sweden.

Locis was designed o provide knowledge, resources and opportunities for Artists to engage internationally. This project involved three very different partners - a rural county, a provincial city and a suburb of a capital city - each with a different language, a different currency, different social constructs and different cultures. A great deal of time was spent bridging these differences. These ongoing discussions and interactions proved central to the project and these exchanges were the integral nucleus that drove the project forward.
