The objective of this essay is to explore the importance of dialogue in film through a consideration of the Coen Brothers 1996 thriller Fargo. It will attempt to address issues such as the hyperbole of the Minnesotan dialect and its importance to the plot, in an attempt to present dialogue as an aesthetic quality on par with the visual elements of film making.
