Wendy Gers is a former curator at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum, Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and now lectures at l'École Nationale Supérieure d'Art, Limoges, France. Gers is curator of the 2016 First Central China International Ceramics Biennale and curated the 2014 Taiwan Ceramics Biennale. She is a research associate at the University of Johannesburg and has written extensively about modern and contemporary ceramics.
