This dissertation investigates the psychology of architectural and domestic space in relation to the concept of the uncanny. It asserts that the uncanny is itself a projection of a mental state and can be used to link psychology with the home. It argues that domestic space lends itself to the uncanny better than any other and that the uncanny might be used to bridge the gap between psychoanalysis and the home.
