Multimodality examines modes of communication. Modes are used to convey a message to the receiver. Modes can be defined as but not limited to communication sources such as visuals, text, audio and language. Persuasion theory examines the roles of communicative devices, the intended outcome from the receiver s perspective, and the process of involvement of both the message sender and the viewer.
