It examines the role of the body in Conceptual Fashion Design, how it has been perceived through history, how it is viewed today, the role of the body in relation to gender and the clothed body. The essay also looks at the social and political issues that affect Fashion designers today who respond in a conceptual way. It looks a key designers who use metaphor to address ideas, concepts and social realities. [Abstract]
