To try to understand where these negative associations have arisen from and why has the word become so dirtied to suppress its goals.  Through exploring a brief history of feminism, from the first wave to contemporary examples in popular culture I hope to find out where it comes from and if there is a possibility of transcending this negativeity and saving the real meaning of what it is to be a feminist and recover the term use.
