Ariel Levy is an American journalist and writer, born in 1974. She is a graduate of Wesleyan University. Before becoming a writer, she worked for Planned Parenthood and New York magazine. In 2008, she became a staff writer for The New Yorker. Her essay, The Lesbian Bride's Handbook, was published in The Best American Essays 2008. She is the author of two books, Female Chauvinist Pigs: Women and the Rise of Raunch Culture, and The Rules Do Not Apply: a Memoir.(Bowker Author Biography)
