This dissertation discusses satire and what purpose it serves today. It attempts to identify the components and consequences of satire and how it has evolved to the present day. This dissertation is constructed around the theory of satire, a historical perspective of satire, how satire unravels spectacle and the ethical and moral considerations of satire.
