Chris Mounsey has been teaching English Literature at King Alfred's College, Winchester, for ten years. It was a teacher-training establishment and is now an arts college. He has published two academic books, a biography of the eigteenth century poet Christopher Smart and a collection of essays: both with Associated University Presses (both published in 2001). He is at present working on a new biography of Daniel Defoe. John Seely, the series editor of the One Step Ahead series, is an experienced author and teacher of English who has worked in education at all levels from primary school to university. His publications include The Oxford English Programme, The Oxford Guide to Writing and Speaking, and Everyday Grammar (OPR).
