The aim of my FYP is to investigate the role of the contemporary gothic monster in 20th century cinema through the examination and analysis of the works of Gregg Araki and Asia Argento. This study is motivated by two research questions: 1. How said 'monsters' have developed to reflect society's new fears and 2. to establish links between the 'monsters' in the works of Araki and Argento.
