This Final Year Project examines ethnographic photography. It questions how Ethnographic photography has helped shape the identity of the West of Ireland. Throughout the project photography captured in the Claddagh, Galway by Marguerite Mespoulet and Madeline Mignon-Alba in 1913 and images captured by Dorothy Lange in Ennis 1954 will be examined. The accuracy of these photographs will be questioned including how these images have impacted on Irish Identity to the present day. [Abstract]
