In this extended essay the author explores the world of health food marketing, its effect on consumer's perception of health labelled food and the contribution misleading packaging can make to the current obesity epidemic. This is achieved through analysis of health food packaging and advertising throughout the 20th and 21st century and references several studies centred around the effect of the 'health halo'.
