An exploration involving two case studies - both wth processional elements under the lens of Mikhail Bakhtin's theory of carnivalesque. Four key elements common to both case studies - performer/participant, audience, location/space and time are analysed to establish if the notion of a suspended time zone exists within the paramenters of these processions.
