A discussion on the unclothed female within popular television culture focusing particularly on television shows Girls and Game of Thrones. Kenneth Clarkes theory about the nude and the naked is used with special reference to both shows to explore the portrayal of unclothed women. Other arising issues will include perceptions of the female body size, power relations between men and women, power and violence in relation to the unclothed female in Game of Thrones and the gaze .
