This extended essay addresses the photography of Modernist, Alexander Rodchenko and Postmodernist Edward Ruscha, with particular focus on their depictions the city street. This essay explores the position of Michel De Certeau s voyeur and Walter Benjamin s flâneur, to investigate the significance of the vantage point in exposing the nature of urban modernity. [Abstract]
