This essay will consider the influence of Italian Neo-realism cinema on shaping the Polish New Wave cinema after World War II. I will explore the phenomenon of sudden appearance of the formed and mature Polish national cinema movement after the period of domination of the Soviet idealism in the Polish culture. Based on the analysis of selected films of Roberto Rossellini and Andrzej Wajda I will propose to demonstrate the methodological and aesthetic similarities between the works of both artists.[Abstract]
